So I moved from the burbs, six month there, to downtown Portland...
For this west Texan and small town jumper (I move a lot) I'm stoked! I mean, not to use a dead language--but "radical to the maximum" sums it up.
As I mentioned, I've only been in Oregon for a short run to date but I am head-over-heels. It's kinda gross how much I love this place. The beach an hour away; Seattle two hours; forests and green-green parks on every corner; and let's not forget the city life: Comings and goings of all sorts of characters; BEAUTIFUL women, GD the ladies, forgive my simple mind, but GD! And my new friends: I knew a couple people from El Paso who lived here, as well as both my brothers and their families
, and now I have all of their friends and some of my own creation (I'm very social suddenly) and they are just like my dream friends when I was a boy wondering if I'd ever like my friends beyond the bar scene--well, I do. Not to brag but my friends are the shit: smart, fun, artistic, outgoing (could be moreso--I'm big into hiking/camping), oh and most are in bands, how cool is that? GD I'm happy. All I need is a sexy lady friend (not gf as I have one of those in Spain, and she's the only gf for me) to share my awesome view late nights and early mornings, and I can die complete...
