Before I am accused of being vague, let's define "freedom"

Freedom is an abstract, first of all. This means you cannot point to a person, state, country, object, etc. and say which is more free. Freedom is a concept similar to love in that we want it and similar to pain in that we all share in it separately; life in that it is a state of being, death in that it is both forever beyond us and guaranteed.

So when I say "The only response to: What do you want to when you grow up? is free" I'm not waving the flag or simply being anti-establishment (still true), I'm attempting to underline the fact none of us really understand what freedom is, but we're still free to imagine. All of us able to understand language are in essence putting on the shackles ourselves. A person cannot speak or hear or try to grasp what is external without defining what is self, and in defining self a person assumes perceptions and is trapped.

If the doors of perception were truly cleansed...

So before you listen to anyone claiming to have the best freedom around, realize what they are actually offering is the opposite--they are offering a one word answer, simplicity, God. They are lying. Freedom is a wild thing, freedom is an island in an ocean on a planet in a solar system in a galaxy, et al.

I seriously recall thinking to myself "Is it better to think in words, or to let the storm broil?" By this I believe I cornered the truth of humanity. I chose words, obviously, but I relate best with the simple sort, the people and animals in my life who ride the wave of consciousness, who chose a semblance of freedom (the external: friends, family, community, species, existence; all still define every person and thusly control every person to a degree).

There are two kinds of people. Both are just as relevant: Do not hate the learned and do not hate the ignorant.

However, the next time you hear someone say "Freedom aint free" kill them.
