I've got a complete set of Jane Austen's works from the 1880's in fairly pristine condition. There is some wear on the covers,but after 100+ years that's to be expected. Then I have a rare printing of Moby DIck and a full collection of Thorreau's works from the early 1900's. Just the usual rare book collection.
It's sort of fun to judge people for doing shit like this, but the bottom line is that it's not something we control, and judging people is crazy-making. Keep your own ethics, and you are doing everything you can.
