okay another countdown started. for all those invovled (as if you didn't already know) sam's coming out to me. july 15th i pick her up at the airport. god, ya you old man, thank you. i know i can't say it enough. but thank you thank you
enough comic jokes!
okay. hockey season is over, time for summer. picked up james loewen's "lies my teacher told me" very fucking interesting. i wanted to read something a little more non-fiction after burning through jaqulien carey's kushiel trilogy. (a series that i can not say enough about. if you need something to consume your free time check out this series. fucking incredible. just ask sam)
reading the lies book is interesting because it makes me realize that my public school education left me very very un-educated. i can understand not only why american students are morons but why they also could give a shit about school. i think i've learned more since i quit college then i did while i was being "edjahmakated" and here we are one of the "top" countries in the world. makes me want to get in politics. that or write a book.
i've been thinking about writing a book for awhile now. well a couple actually. but the first that i'd like to write would be a self help book for guys. sitting around reading journals and meeting people has left me with this un-nerving feeling that guys are complete idiots when it comes to real life. is this why we feel so sympathic to movie such as fight club?
is it the lack of rites of passage in our modern culture that do it?
or is it something more sinister? something like the simple fact that we as a culture no longer know how to interact with others honestly?
i think this is when yoda says something like "meditate on this i will" thanks you fucking muppet....makes me feel good about myself and our culture as a world.
