there's something so... innocent about the way she lies there. hair across the pillows in a profusion of gold and red, curling underneath where it was wet with sweat the night before. closed eyelids as pale and thin as a baby's, blue veins shining through the tender skin. eyelashes gold tipped from days in the sun, and spiky as if they were still wet with last night's tears and champagne. lips tenderly swollen and richly pink, almost bruised from your kisses. hand curved into a little fist pressed against those lips, where she moved it when you slid out of bed, trying not to wake her. as your gaze slides lower, the curve of her neck shows more marks of your love. just the sight of them calls to mind her open-mouthed gasps, breath hitching as she came around you... again. shaking your head, you pull the blanket up around her shoulders, leaning over to kiss her forehead softly. sleepy eyes follow you around the end of the bed until you turn in the door to look back. 'i love you.' 'mmm-hmm.'
