SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I was supposed to be going Xmas shopping today but the sun was shining on my garden and it was looking really Wintry and lovely so I spent about 2 hours out there with my camera (s) and decided to go late night shopping tomorrow instead.

I took some polaroids which I really want to post, but I have to wait until I can go get my scanner...damnit

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I have just spent the last hour compiling THE ultimate and completely amazing Christmas CD and now I'm grinning from ear to ear. I'm in the process of burning it for friends, so that i can get them grinning from ear to ear too. H and me are going to the pub tonight - he doesn't know it yet but I'm going to get him to play Santa for a bit first and help me deliver the Cds to people.

Seriously, if you have a means of downloading songs and burning discs - you have GOT to make this CD. You'll be grinning so much you can't speak after you've listened to it. Here's the tracklisting:

1.) The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping
2.) Brenda Lee - Rocking Around The Christmas Tree
3.) Wham! - Last Christmas
4.) Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
5.) Peggy Lee - Winter Wonderland
6.) Marilyn Monroe - Santa Baby
7.) Jona Lewie - Stop The Calvary
8.) Mud - Lonely This Christmas
9.) The Darkness - Christmastime (Don't Let The Bells End)
10.) The Pogues ft. Kirsty Macoll - Fairytale of New York
11.) Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
12.) Nat King Cole - Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire (The Christmas Song)
13.) Bing Crosby/Dean Martin - Let it Snow
14.) Chris de Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling
15.) Aled Jones - Walking in the Air
16.) Bing Crosby - White Christmas
17.) Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime
18.) Johnny Mathis & Gladys Knight - When a Child Is Born
19.) Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone

It's amazing. Put the songs in that order.

I'm not a really religious person, but songs like A Spaceman Came Travelling and When A Child Is Born are gorgeous, and I guess you gotta remember what Christmas is really about, right? And Stop The Calvary is great - reminds me a school play I was in, where I was a German soldier and had to learn Silent Night in German. Ack. And we marched across the stage to that song.

And Fairytale of New York is my number 1, all time favourite Christmas song ever. It's amazing. And it always makes me cry.

I am now going to do some Internet Christmas shopping and tackle the boring task of writing my Xmas cards.

*Yawn*

And I have a dog as well, so maybe they wouldn't get on too well! (My dog's mortally afraid of them, seriously, none of this traditional Tom and Jerry hierarchy, he'd run a mile!)

You know, I think this is where I'm going wrong on Christmas, I always try to avoid the songs and all, and then complain I don't feel Christmassy! Well, I'm downloading Fairytale of New York right now, we'll see if it helps!

You're so brave lady, I hope you have the coolest time ever while you're over there. You can't get more independent than being a stranger on your lonesome in a strange country! In the vain hope that I make it over there too when you are, we'll have to meet up. We can drink and tea and moan about the weather so as to stave off home sickness!

So glad to see you've Big Dean in your christmas mix, love the guy. When you hear him sing, you just know that he's smiling! The only dedicated christmas cd I've got is A Christmas Gift To You From Phil Spector, its fucking brilliant!

Did you know that I got bullied during my school nativity play? Harsh but true!
