Still homeless. Still couch-hopping. Still living out of a backpack. I'm doing farely well though. The generosity and sincere caring displayed by people I've met on SG, while not surprising to me, is quite remarkable. For those of you who have housed me recently, and those of you who have offered to house me, I'm eternally grateful. Thanks.
I've seen 2 apartments so far that actually have potential, and I'm seeing a third tonight which I have high hopes for. This is real. I'm on my own, I'm independant. It is hard and stressful. And totally invigorating. I love it.
The main reason I left, since many of you have asked, is my father. We got in a fight, a screaming match, which isn't unusual, so whatever. But near the end of it he raised fist to hit me. He has used physical force with me once before, a few months ago. ONCE. It will never happen again. I moved out to insure that.
I have seen my father twice since I left. The first time I was leaving as he was arriving. It went like this:
Father: hi.
Me: hi. bye.
Father: bye.
The second time I saw him, which was yesterday, he didn't say anything to me. I didn't say anything to him either. It worked quite well. My mom has confessed that she's considered divorcing him on many occassions. I can't imagine what stopped her.
On an entirely different note, you should all go read It's a bird... by Steve Seagle. It is very very wonderful.
