My half-sister Becca is having her baby on Tuesday. Zadie! I love being an aunt.
The school year is almost over. The kids had their last day on Thursday and now we're just packing up the entire school because they're doing construction over the summer. I was sad to say goodbye to the little monsters, but I'm thrilled to be escaping my fucking insane-o boss. And I'm equally thrilled that I won't have to wake up at 6am.
This summer is going to be chock full o' things. For starters, one of the rich families from the school where I was working is taking me to Europe with them. One of their nannies is an illegal immigrant, so they're taking me in her place. Notice how I said "ONE of their nannies"? They're taking their 4 kids - and 3 nannies. We're going to London, Paris, and Cannes. We're flying in private planes. Staying in the nicest hotels, eating at the nicest restaurants. This family is LOADED. I'm going to be working basically 24/7 for 17 days and it's going to be hell - but needless to say, I'll be coming home with very fat pockets.
Then a week after that, I start nannying for Becca's cousin's son. He's cute, it should be fun.
Most of the money I make this summer will get invested in index funds or something that I don't understand. Some of the money will go to college stuff. And the rest? A big tattoo project I just started planning with the beloved and megatalented ymonster. My first appointment is in July. I can't wait.
And then mid-August I'll head out to Santa Fe. I'm not very excited about it right now, but I'm hoping that'll change.
