TV, Television, Drug of the Nation, the tube, and the center piece of so many American homes... that's what I want to talk about for a while. I'll come back to music and movies in a while... but for now let me just say that I watch only a little TV these days and that suits me fine....
I was a tv junkie for most...

If there was any justice in the world...... (in other words use your imagination)
what's the state of music in 2004? Well let me tell you.. that MTV has really turned around after they were bought up by those 20 year old internet millionaires who changed it's direction back to music at all levels..... We hear good music, no matter what 'genre' it is, at...

just a few words about MY view of SG and some ideas about posting in different places on this site.
I have spent a good deal of time on message boards the last couple of years and have come to the following conclusions:

Oh hell yeah! I love the Oak Street so much. I've seen just bits and pieces of the Americanized version. When is it?
contrast:
i am all over godzilla. the trailer is minimal, but it still gave me a geekgasm.
out of town this weekend, hope to rest, watch TV, maybe do a little writing....
So let me leave you, dear readers (all 2 of you) with this.. the film CQ was one of the most fun and interesting films that got buried by the industry.

hope you are having a good weekend. weekend trips are a good break. but the week comes back too soon...
I'm out of town this weekend, and so I weekly update isn't going to happen... I might try and write something while I am away.
I'm going to see my 93 year old grandmother who keeps asking about:
Do you have a car?
Are you ever going to go to church again?
Are you ever going to get married?
when are you going to settle...

I am sorry I missed that show. I wound up hanging out with my brother for a while and then started to feel kinda sick. I took a sick day on monday and 1/2 day on Tuesday to just sleep. Better now!
prs2000:
hey so i watched cheaters and barcelona today (finally)
cheaters was pretty good - especially for an hbo movie. i can't stand jeff daniels in films where he is trying to be funny, but i like him in more serious roles.
barcelona reminded me alot of swingers - that back forth banter between the two main characters, one trying to "help" with the love life, blah blah blah. it was a decent flick but i think i like swingers better
so the new job is treating you well? when does it open?

1. hmmm good question. does grosse point blank count as a rom-com?
2. why not? it's good reading. my journals are boring. i'm always looking for something more interesting than my own life
3. why is homicide your favorite TV show? i've never seen it...

I'm not sure if it's my favorite rom-com but I gotta say Annie Hall is up there. I like that kind of humor. I like Woody and Diane together. I like that they go back in time to his childhood so we can see why he is the way he is in the movie. I like that it is sort of really how things go sometimes. I read your journals because I find them interesting. You put a lot of thought into what you put out there. Start talking about TV now.
I'm still working on a new entry,,,, but until then.. a few questions...
do you wear white sox or something else?
what was the last CD you bought, and was it what you expected? was it good or bad?
Do you watch TV every day?
do you read movie reviews before you go to see a film?
what do you do on sunday afternoons?

i almost never wear white socks. i'm the queen of tights, knee-highs, and over-the-knees. i like striped socks with lots of colors.
last CD i bought...probably some techno thiing. no clue though really. i've been buying lots of single tracks off the itunes store though.
i watch TV almost every day. there are occasional days or weekends when the TV never gets turned on. but i love my tivo. no time wasted on commecials. lots of movies. lots of indy films. and i love the sopranos, dead like me, 6 feet under, and true medical and forensic science shows...
i never read movies reviews before going to the movies. i like now knowing what's gonna happen. i tend to enjoy the movie more that way. but i usually hear commentary about movies from other people who've read reviews. go figure.
sunday afternoons usually consist of errands, working outside (if weather permits), homework, laundry, and come 8pm - the Sopranos on HBO.

Rare personal entry here. 21 years ago today my life shattered. My father died, he was 40, I was 10. It was and is unreal, there were plenty of kids around who lived with only their mother, but msot of them had dads that they saw once and a while, I knew I never was going to see mine agian, at least not in this...
