Why isn't there a Dunkin Donuts in the twin cities? Really have people looked around and seen these mid westerners? A dunkin donuts would be a welcome sight to many... Instead we get the lie that is Krispy Kream. These aren't donuts, it's lard with a dusting of flour and sugar deep fried. They melt in your mouth because they are pure lard.... anyway, I want a better selection of bakery quality donuts than I have been able to find locally... There is one place on the north side of town that has good donuts, but I don't really like the idea of driving 30 to 40 minutes just for donuts... I have some time today, maybe I will go out there anyway...

still watching American Dream season 1 and digging it. Solid family drama that hasn't sanatized the realities of the 1960's but isn't pushing the ultra negative line about the era either.
American History X: besides a Fairuzza Balk this film shows off what can be done with a small story showing the changes that a person can make in their world view while growing up and coming into their own.
Mayor of the Sunset Strip: This doc. is about KROQ DJ Rodeny Bingenheimer. Most of it comes off as staged happy face stuff, but there are a few moments when the shield come down and you get a glimps of a little guy who's become a mascot and gets by, but never comes close to the success of the people that he's helped out..
A Night at the Opera: The marx brothers at their best, it's a shame that we don't all know every line and ever scene in this film the way that we all seem to know Donnie Darko or Dumb and Dumber... classic stuff that holds up very well, and that got me to laugh out loud more often than many of the so called comedies that are made these days.

then krispy kreme came to town. i actually like krispy kreme. but they are not actually donuts in my mind. they are "krispy kremes"
