I feel i should do a follow up to last yesterdays blog.

Went into work early to start doing the promo, was putting the sheets down as to where they go. Got to one of the bottom ends that should have been changed (i'll get to that...) and saw the girl. Went over, and just asked her. Was a little bit "er..." originally, then it was okay. Shes very shy, and doesn't go out that much; to which i said i didnt either. She said she didnt have her phone with her, or know her number, so i gave her my number when we got to where she was going - she wrote it on her arm. As i was getting stuff, kept seeing her - had to get a trolley, wheels etc and everytime i went out there, i'd see her. This being about...8pm.

At 10pm, the rest of the night guys came in, some of them knew what i had planned - mainly the 2 ladies that work on checkouts. Saw the guy that i asked if he'd send her over to me, went to him "what happened, why didnt you send her to see me bullshit" and said i'd actually seen her and asked her, so told him exactly what happened a bit later. Front end girls eventually came over to me and asked how it went, and i just replied with a smile; they were happy for me.

Roll on a bit, and the guy that should have been doing the delivery went home ill - wont tell you why; its not nice - Leading me to have to finish off. Went to the manager to say a) still going at 6, and b) i might not get delivery finished. His reply was i'll have the till ladies to face up for you. Originally, it was you're shitting me, and a night that had started off so well had tanked so quickly. They'd started facing up and with the radio on, they were singing, i was singing and the night improved.

After lunch, went downstairs and the mood soured again. A few nights ago a customer was reduced to tears (apparently) because he couldn't get to a bottle of Brandy because of all the rubbish left on the floor (i'd left on the floor) He's an old boy, in a mobility scooter, and he's dying; so i did feel guilty at the time. Last night i thought to pick all the rubbish up first, and when i came down last night he was there getting another bottle, with help from one of the till ladies. She eventually came back, nigh on crying; the customer's story hit home with her, something he said was about he's not happy that he'll be leaving his wife behind...so mood went to hell again.

After the they'd both gone to lunch, everything was better again.

All in all, its strange how a moods can change, but it was a good night for me. Got the girls number, sent/received a few texts with her, but need to go further and organise something with her.
