I'm going to procrastinate a bit from a essay I need to write and rant about my family for a minute or two to blow off some steam.
I usually don't like to take friends to meet my extended family, why you may ask yourself? Well it's not because when I bring somebody to any place were there's one or more of them gathered, they treat me like I'm still 8 years old. Especially if I'm with a female friend. It also isn't because they are extremely lively and flamboyant. It is because when I'm around them with friends or alone 20 minutes can't pass without somebody making a comment on how I'm basically inferior to my older cousin in all possible ways, except cooking and doing cleaning/laundry. This is also why most of my aunts still think I may be gay. So basically to them I'm less smart, older looking than him who is 5 years older than me, less attractive, less in shape, have a crappier personality, less creative, less outgoing, have a crappier carrier path and a disappointment when in comes to sports. Now you are asking yourselves, why would you not tell them to stop? To be honest I don't really now it has been this way since I was little and it just doesn't seem to notice it much anymore.
Until they started doing it around my friends and they seem shock by how my family makes fun of me almost nonstop. It kind of brought it back to my attention and has become quite embarrassing to bring friends around now. Also it has started to really bother me now, to the point that I can't even stand being with family member for more than an hour anymore.
