The Missouri Review sent me the friendliest rejection letter I have ever received as an author. They said that, though they were not going to publish my story, they really enjoyed reading, loved my original approach, and would really like to see more of my writing. The Missouri Review is a big deal and they pay really well for stories and poetry. So yeah. A rejection. But it totally made my day!
