Somehow, the Broccolis have managed to produce a sequel/prequel that is better than all the previous films. And yes that includes yours, Sean.
This Bond is clever without being smarmy.
He's hard without being ridiculous (though the poison scene was a bit much).
And he's not surrounded by bimbos, which says something about how far we've come since the sixties. Don't believe me? Watch an old and the new Bond side by side and the difference is stunning.
They even broke a whole series of Bond rules, but I'll leave it to you to spot all the in-jokes yourself. Suffice to say, even if you never liked Bond before, this one's a must.
