OK, first of all...My heart goes out to everyone living in/from/stationed in Japan. If I haven't heard from you, please check in and let me know you're alive and well. I worry about you!
I have searched for a group relating to this, and I'm kind of surprised there isn't one. I've been "No Poo" (as in No commercial shampoo) for about 6 months now. I use natural soaps sometimes and use Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar rinse most of the time...Sometimes I use a tea rinse instead of the vinegar depending on the time of year and the state of my scalp. I started this before I started dreading, and it was a bit of an adjustment, but my hair is lighter, stronger, and after the adjustment it's been less oily...more manageable, and has been overall a pretty satisfactory experiment.
I've taken lately to making my own makeup, lotions, soaps, facial care stuff, etc. Natural cosmetics and skincare has given me an outlet for all that random science knowledge I've accumulated over the years. It's also allowed me to MAKE products that I can tailor specifically to my particular needs...and any woman will tell you that Skin Care is tricky because one tick of the hormonal scale and everything is all wonky.
I will be looking to get a shop up and running sometime within the year. It's been one of my resolutions that I've been steadily working toward since January.
Are there any lovely ladies out there interested in Natural skincare that actually WORKS? Lotions? Perfumes? Body scrubs? Makeup that has bad ass pigments AND works on sensitive skin?
What would you wanna see in a line like that?
