I cooked like a madwoman this week!!!!
I managed to do the following...
*Tweak their Alfredo recipe (basically i just made my great Nona's recipe and they said it was perfect. They were making it too hard.)
*Made up a recipe for a salad (yes i know...but the restaurant i work at is VERY detail oriented, and salad is considered an art form). But, I garlic/butter sauteed some shrimp...cooled it off and let it soak up the garlic lemon butter as it cooled...put it in the fridge and drained of the garlic lemon butter and set it aside. Pulled apart some Romaine and used the green ends...laid them all out in a pretty pattern (green base, the lighter stuff building up slightly)...then slices of avacado, Tomato wedges, Whole shrimp pieces, and chopped hearts of palm...with a lemon poppyseed dressing, and topped with chopped macadamia nuts.
* Seared in the flavor on some short ribs..cooked them MOST of the way...then braised on some honey...and finely chopped pecans and a TINY bit of dry rue mixed in with the honey...slap those babies on the grill and its RIBS.
*I also make bad ass crab cakes...and lovely tofu dishes. I bake all the bread by hand (well..i help and I'm learning a lot about it.)
*I do pies as well...all kinds of pies. And homemade Jams.
Yes ladies and gentlemen..i pwn faces in the kitchen...and i like my job a lot.
I studied to be a lawyers bitch boy...and i ended up in a kitchen and loving it.
BONUS...
they're letting me display my knit, crochet, and tumbled rock jewelry in 2 separate art galleries...and advertise for the ETSY store when it finally gets launched (i'm ALMOST there).
I'm very excited about life up here. Extremely excited.
The end.
oh....how is everyone else?
