Isn't there other stuff going on in the world?

I mean, seriously, who the FUCK cares enough about "American Idol" for it to be news?

Ah, life. Exciting.

Actually, nothing's happening. I'm going to turn down the "new" job that was offered to me about 6 months ago, since my current boss won't let me transfer and I kind of don't want that job anyway.

Even though I promised no more drinkin' stories for a while, here's one (my current one, actually):

I gave blood this morning. It's something I've been doing pretty regularly with an ex (actually, the girl I lost my virginity to-but that's an interesting personal note and irrelevant to this story). Well, I get home, and Maya and her cousin are going to see a secret...

One of my personal bits of irritation is when people try to pass off their crazy theories using science that they don't understand. Keep in mind, it's not the crazy theories themselves; everyone should and does have them, regarding all sorts of stuff. The theories aren't a big deal.

Growing up, my mom always tried to "prove" reincarnation to me by saying "it's well known...

That right there is one of the main reasons I can't watch MSNBC.

We have a show on one of the AM stations called the Jesus Christ show. I kid you not, people call in to talk to him as if he really is. The guy is pretty good (I guess), except for so many of his explanations are SO fallacious, it makes me so angry to listen to him. I'd almost rather hear the guy say "because I said so," when people ask him one of those hard questions (like if you're such a loving god, why do bad things happen, why should I believe in you. . . etc.) as opposed to the explanations he gives.

Where does the time go? All I need is a nap these days. I'm figuratively crawling through my week. Pleh. I hate being this tired all the time.

I had a weird dream last night where I was living in Germany in the early 1930's. I signed up for the army and got my uniform. Then my dream-girlfriend, my Jewish friend, his wife, and I all boarded a plane for the US. In the airport bathroom, I gave my friend the uniform that I had just recieved from the German army. The Nazi...

Today, I am no longer a n00b.

Saturday's party was ok, except for the really drunk, right-wing military nut job who started yelling at both Maya and myself for being: 1. college-educated and 2. New-Deal Democrats. Yup, you open your home to someone, he assumes something about your politics, and then starts yelling at you. And people wonder what happened to courtesy in our society....

Good god, it's hot here. It's getting to 100F (or roughly 38C for those of you in the civilized, metric system-using countries). Maya's friend just defended her PhD in Speech, Language, and Hearing science, so there's a party at my house. I'm not exactly excited about 50 some-odd people here, but there'll be beer and that's ok by me.

Yesterday, at work, I solved (well,...

Wow... long time since the last update for me.

Well, I went with the pathologist at work to look at some tissue. I got to see someone's incredibly tumorous kidney and someone else's stomach. Honestly-it wasn't that gross (the tissue was fixed, so it wasn't too bloody), and really really fascinating. So I'll tag along again in the future. Maybe I'll even take the gross...

You should totally dissect some cadavers. That would bring you so far up on my "cool people" list.
Ok, I don't really have a list, but it would still be badass.

Oh, and when you listen to my music, it's best with headphones. Especially "With a Gun".

Almost done with "Stiff". Like I said, totally fascinating book. Interestingly, I got a whole bunch of slices of someone's brain on microscope slides to stain. I'm a little more interested in the structure now. Maybe I'll go with one of the pathologists at work when he decides to gather more human tissue. I know it's morbid, but at the same time, it's really interesting...
