Seems we're definitely having a kid soon, but it's still early. Very early. So, anything can happen and we're not telling the fam or friends just yet. So, confidential to those I knew in RL before joining this site... keep yer traps shut. I needed to vent when I posted initially, and the relative safety of mostly anonymous strangers on the intartubes helps.
I'm preparing smartassy answers for the questions I'm sure I'll be getting... Examples:
Q: Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?
A: I'm hoping for an individual who isn't constrained by preconceived gender roles.
Q: What if he/she/it turns out bisexual/gay/transgendered?
A: Then I hope I raise he/she/it to have good taste in a partner, and not to succumb to dumbass stereotypes.
Q: What if he/she/it becomes a stripper?
A: I will make sure he/she/it does all his/her/its homework before stripping lessons, so that there is a fallback if the stripping thing doesn't work out.
