Well, so. Back from Seattle, for a visit to the 'rents, with the in-laws tagging along. It was just getting to be too much family togetherness, when it was time to come back to San Francisco. Saw some old friends at what's becoming a holiday tradition-the 'rents throwing a small holiday party.

The party was ok, though I spent half of the evening worrying about my friend, The Padre, showing up drunk, and proceeding to drink until he passed out in my father's favorite chair. Funny once, but I hear this is becoming a habit for him. Padre's brother, The Poet, doesn't even show up to this thing, ostensibly because Padre's been pissing him off, although Poet makes himself scarce whenever I'm in town. Which also pisses me off. Get talked at by a 3rd friend, Mr. Business, about what needs to be done for Padre, and not to worry about Poet. Business then proceeds to tell me that I need to 'find my passion' and do something employable with it. I tell Business that I have no idea what that is, and I'm still trying to find my way (and what I really want out of life). Not good enough.

Fortunately, Wifey was there to get my back, although she was busy entertaining her parents, too. Something tells me 2009 hasn't been a happy year, all around.


But, I'm catching up on blogs/doing lazy e-stalking, and I hear y'all seemed to have a pretty good holiday season. So that's good. Also, it seems like SG is giving out 3 month re-ups to folks who've cancelled their accounts recently... Unless there's a secret naked santa...

I feel a bit under the weather for NYE (minor head cold), so I'm sure we'll have an early night biggrin. Here's hoping that it, and 2010, are going to be an improvement for everyone.
