Nothing too exciting. Although it's kinda gross how my cat is cleaning her nails right now. She's sort of eating what's under her claws in a very ferocious manner. Almost as if there's fish in there for her.

Oh, and my friend who got a tattoo of cherries on her hip when she turned 18 is now looking to add a tattoo of Pac-Man eating...

Naturally, there's a critical mass for acheiving as many friendships as you want. This isn't an interesting post, but I went to my friend's party to celebrate him defending his PhD dissertation. I'm sure I'll rewrite or delete this Saturday morning (4/21)... Anyone who reads this is great... <3. And I never use emoticons!

SATURDAY MORNING:
So, yeah. I'll leave it up. Don't drink and...

So the guy I saw writing porn was fired yesterday. The boss actually used the word "terminated". Anyway, apparently, he'd violated one of the company's "zero-tolerance" policies. As far as I can tell, short of anything totally illegal (embezzelment; murder; drug dealing) that means he:

1) Showed up to work high or drunk.
2) Showed up to work with a weapon (and not a utility...

Not that anything about the Virginia Tech shooting was funny, but there were 2 things in the news reports that were sort of interesting.

1) Billy Graham's son being interviewed. Someone asked him (I think it was Joe Scarborough), while interviewing "how could this sort of thing exist if God loves us all". Isn't that the whole Judeo-Christian problem of evil in the first place?...

You know, at the same time I'm an advocate for the advancement of technology and such related things, the unfortunate thing is that it allows judgmental loudmouthed morons the open ability to display their opinions to the public. While that in itself is more annoying than harmful, it becomes an unfortunate circumstance when there are even more stupid, judgmental people who will understand, agree with and follow blindly the loudmouthed idiots.
(Don't get me started on the horrors of my precious, excessively beloved and highly addicting Internet. . .)

It's easy to say "I would have acted heroically" to an event that one has never experienced and will most likely never experience.
So sad.

The one funny thing I saw yesterday after hearing about the Virginia Tech shooting:

I was going out to lunch with two of my coworkers, we had to go to the Home Depot to rig up some plumbing in the lab, when I passed by another coworker's cubicle. He looked like he was working hard; writing reports or something, till I looked a little closer....

Seems like Sunday's kind of a slow day in SG land.

In other news, my little Java imaging project is finally starting to come to fruition, and that's awesome. I started it about a year ago, and it'll be an incredibly useful tool for work.

For the very first time in a long time, I have absolutely nothing to do today. Maybe I'll do a little writing. Maybe I'll do a little coding. Maybe I'll go for a walk. We'll see...

Eh. I'm gonna read in the hammock. It's a nice day out there. Naturally, though, staying out of the sun, as I am really really really white.

In much, much sadder news (and I'm sure you're all aware of this by now), Kurt Vonnegut died last night at the age of 84, from complications due to a fall.

Every fan is saying "So it goes", as he once did. But that doesn't mean we're happy about it.

LATER:
Another bizarre SG dream this afternoon. It was just a nap, so it was...

I really, really wish my cat would stop bringing her kills into the house. I mean, ok, cats kill. It sucks, but it's one of the things that they do. But why in the house? I don't need blood smears all over my walls and floor that I didn't put there myself (kidding!... or am I? Wait, yes I am. I thought it would be...

Two unrelated posts, all wrapped up in one...

1) I've been trying to eat less meat lately. I think I feel better for it. People say that vegetarians have health problems, but I don't think it's true. I think only people with an unbalanced diet have health problems.

2) Had a really weird dream last night. One of the Suicide Girls had invited me over;...

Rock 'n roll weekend. Cooking. Yardwork. House cleaning. Grocery shopping.

I used to rock.

Paraphrasing my friend Arnie; the perils of doing yardwork in the desert are:
1) Hundred-degree or hotter temperatures.
2) Sharp, spiny things that tear your skin.
3) Tough, thick branches.
4) The seeming pointlessness of it all.

Also, Scion wants me to fill out a survey about my car. That's right....
