Nothing too exciting for news. I'll probably be attending day 2 or 3 of a local music festival at the Hotel Congress. Exciting!
aldremech:
You should go to the Rialto theatre tomorrow night. PH8 will be playing at 9:30. I am going to try and make it after I get off of work.

that sounds good!! enjoy!!

I really haven't been meaning to be so inactive on the site, but, well, I've been playing Bioshock. Today I call to set up my next tattoo, the digits of pi down my arm (nerd-fuckin'-core!).
lilandra:
that is nerd-fucking-core, but i like it.!!!! smile
aldremech:
See, you should have gone dammit. Definately good times.
Sweet idea for a tattoo.

Two things:
1) Bioshock comes out today. I'm so excited; I'm skipping work a little early (I'm also getting in early) to go pick it up and play. Yes, I am a nerd.

2) My cousin is trying to convince me that a) global warming isn't really man-made (he claims the sun is getting hotter-I have a degree in this stuff, and I say bullshit),...

It's odd with the sudden onset of depression like what went on earlier in the week. I'd wax philosophical about the nature of mind versus brain and how some of us are at least partly slaves to our biochemistry, but, honestly, I don't have it in me today. I'm feeling a little tired and wiped out after the effects of depression wear off (for the...

Not much is too new here; Maya's mom is in town and staying in our office/guest room, so I've been pretty unable to login much to anything lately. We had a roach infestation recently (not the good kind). It seems, with all the recent rains, they're coming up out of the sewers into... wherever they can. As it turns out, there was once a drain...

I went to see Rasputina with an old friend on Tuesday. This friend had been out of town for about 5 years, so that was the first time I got to hang out with him in all that time. I'm not exactly a huge Rasputina fan, but I do find the between-songs banter pretty funny (the singer's got little routines for all her songs), and...

Those dance lessons sound like fun! I pretty much know for a fact that if I tried any kind of choreographed daning I'll break a leg (and not necessarily my own!).

Have fun meeting SG people tonight! xxx ooo aaa

And speaking of vector-borne illness, Tucson just had its first confirmed case of West Nile Virus about 4 square blocks from my home. I'm staying away from mosquitos. And the outdoors. Mostly the outdoors because it's fucking hot.

This malaria thing has got me thinking-Maya's been having headaches and just feeling nasty the past 2 weeks. I don't feel too bad, although I've just been...

Travel wears people out, though. Maybe that's just it?

So, do you read National Geographic as well?

And hello. I'm Cait. It's nice to (sort of) meet you.

So, because of my trip to the Yucatan, I was apparently in a "high malaria risk area" and can't give blood for a year. Too bad, cause it's a pretty easy charity. I'll have to do something else to make up for it.

On the good side of all this, plans for the pi sleeve are under way. I'll take pictures, don't you worry.

Was it high risk enough to necessitate quinine? Malaria's such a bitch.

Kudos to you, by the way. Donors are much too few and far between.

if you go out of the state you cant give blood for awhile... i cant give blood because apparently i dont have enough iron.... bitches...

I had a dream last night that I went to Africa to go visit a dude who'd been running a hydroponic farm. This is related to a story that I heard yesterday on NPR. It was a surprisingly normal dream, except that I'd gone to Africa solely to visit this guy. I hadn't even had contact with him or any idea what I was going...
