The proliferation of this sort of ice-cream social, yuppie time-wasting website is getting pretty goofy. Still, I find myself signing up for each new gimmicky service like a kid collecting a rainbow assortment of cookie cutter happy meal toys.
Anyway, this one's pretty genuinely spiffy. Any site that offers Cheese Doodles and bulk shipments of knock-off sunglasses as consolation prizes is Numbah 1, A-ok with me.

Walking home drunk from Hadley's apartment late last night, I passed an elderly woman in a flowered housecoat sitting inside a parked shopping cart at a bus shelter. She was cooking a spoonful of something and muttering to herself. The rest of the street on both sides and for as far as I could see in all directions was entirely deserted and strikingly silent.
