Beginning hour 1 of my 18-hour shift.
I'll get off work at 11 am tomorrow, stumble home, and pass out on my bare-ass bed until Monday. I really should have done a sheet wash before I left the apartment. I don't like sleeping on naked beds.
I've got a gallon jug of iced tea in the fridge, food for dinner, breakfast, and lunch, a nerf gun, a portable DVD player, and the most comfortable pair of suede & worn canvas flip-flops that 15 dollars and a coupon for 50% off can buy (and by the way, why is it impossible to find a good pair of walking shoes in brown and white? it seems that they only make them in either flat black or all-white). Amelie, Jesus' Son, City of Lost Children, Doctor Who, and West Wing season 2. Tokyo Cancelled, by Rana Dasgupta. A change of shirt, a jacket, toothbrush, & toothpaste.
OMG SLEEPOVER AT THE OFFICE!!
I'll update this entry every so often with my progress. I can already tell you that unless I can figure out how to turn the AC on, I'm gonna be sweltering in an hour, tops. I expect the last few entries to look something like this:
"Hour 14 -
Fever gone but itchy. Today hungry and eat doggie food.
Hour 16 -
Itchy itchy Scott came ugly face so killed him. Tasty.
Hur 1**-0Itchy. Tasty."
Let the games begin.

Hour 3:
Finished dinner and my can of rasberry tea. Jesus' Son is really extraordinary. Full of interesting cameos and really fantastic performances. It's one of those quirky movies that I fall in love with just by virtue of its strangeness and the innocent, wide-eyed way in which it presents all of these really horrible experiences. I had never heard of it before it was suggested to me through netflix, so I don't know how much press it got... but if, like me, you had never heard of it before now, I would like to recommend it to you.
Next: The Outlaw Josey Wales.
also: it looks as though I will be buying a new digital camera this evening.

simple. inexpensive. point-and-shoot digital in high-res. A friend of mine has a slightly older model and his takes some of the absolute most impressive candid pictures I have ever seen.

Hour 10:
HAH! I found a bottle of Wild Turkey in Ken's desk drawer.
The Outlaw Josey Wales is awesome. I heart me some Clint Eastwood westerns.
I think it'd be funny to clock everyone in for 4 minutes at 3:33. My sister thinks that although 4 minutes won't register as payable time on anyone's timecard, my employers will be distressed and annoyed at me.
West Wing reruns! I shot a ghost with my nerf gun and fell asleep sprawled on the floor for 6 minutes.
