I was going to save this update for tomorrow morning, but I'm too fucking wired to do anything else. Besides, it's morning. Sorta.

She's almost ready. Needs a few more drivers, but she's got XP running and Dru is sending me emulators, roms, and various other things. I HAVE THE NEW PHOTOSHOP. And I'm rediscovering all of my old favorite Neo-Geo arcade games from the good old days when Roller Skating rinks were better equipped for gaming than a 12-year-old's basement Rec Room.
During the powering-on ceremony, Thomas Newman's Shawshank Redemption suite came up in my iPod queue, so I christened her "Ms. Rita Hayworth." It isn't terribly exotic or strange-sounding, but I like it. I will call her "Marmot" in the bedroom.

he's going to austin because that's where my friend lives and i promised him i'd mail him things. i imagine if he could carry a tune, it'd be more like the warner brothers cartoon frog who breaks out in show tunes when no one was looking.
