my nose isn't doing 'in' anymore. only 'off' and 'out'. I think it started before I came home, but it seems like I'm always sick when I'm down here, anyway.
my father grew a grizzly adams-style beard. he's recovering really well, in spite of the nerve damage in his leg, but until he finds out whether or not he's going back to work, he's letting it all grow out. imagine the scene from Teen Wolf where michael J. fox is transforming in the bathroom and opens the door to find his dad all wooly, standing in the hall waiting for him. that's what he looks like. it's pretty great.
somewhere outside Stuart on the drive home, my ipod spat Land of Confusion out at me (Disturbed's cover of the Genesis song). the short version of this story is that it rocked my face half off, and got me in the mood for other cover songs, specifically darker or more modern rock versions of '80s tunes. I'll outline my new playlist solution, which only partially adheres to that plan:
