writing, applying to 4000-levels, watching The Prisoner for a pop-culture paper, catching up on Firefly. working out thanksgiving plans as far in advance as possible. looks like we're gonna try to do one up here this year. lots of swirly personal stuff going on, but not a lot to say about it. it's a little overwhelming. not that there's so terribly much of it, but that the solution to it all is so elusive. I feel like it's there, on the tip of my brain. close enough to spit on, but I can't reach it.

The entire trip, not a single day was ruined by stormy weather. Even the canopy tour in the forest, which practically soaked us, wasn't anything more than a moderate rain.

The storm rolled in early on our last evening. It was perfect. We had done everything we had set out to do, and our plans for that night consisted more or less of sitting on the porch and relaxing. As it turned out, we ended up with a free evening's entertainment. We ordered pizza, sat and talked, took photographs of the lightning. They came in groups of five to six a minute, and when the storm got closer, the thunder started. I've never heard thunder quite like it. Nothing to muffle the sound, nothing to filter it. It sounded like the end of the world banging on a tin roof.
