My dad called me this morning to tell me that my grandmother passed away last night. I feel quite devastated. I was speachless, as was he. As sad as I was, I couldn't help but think that my father is now parentless. He is now an orphan of sorts and I think that is the saddest part of all. She lived to see her 90th birthday and for that I am happy. She lived alone and cared for herself until the day she left this world and she was fortunate to have had a sharp mind all her years. She loved her independence although she dearly missed my grandfather who passed away 17 years ago. I am thankful that she lived a quality life. I am just sad that it had to end. I will miss you Noni!
