The santo Domingo adventure:
So my time in Santo Domingo came and went quickly. Our third roommate lied about the housing situation, left us in the ghetto where teenagers were walking around with handguns.
where we threw our garbage on the street
where stray dogs ate shit and wandered around
where every colmado (corner store) tried to charge us 5 times as much for water or fruit
where a cop pulled a gun on me and tried to force a female friend into his car to abduct her, the only thing that saved my life there was the idea that her spanish was too perfect for her to be a poor local, and her assertion that there were people waiting for us back at the apartment.
so now i'm back, trying to find new work in miami, and training every day. the time is here for a new positive change in my life.
