Hey SG Land!
So the first week of school is over and I LOVE my Computer Science and Digital Arts courses.

My anthropology is boring as fuck but very manageable.
I love my teachers, they are so fun and nice and really helpful. They LOVE my binary tattoo and realize I am serious about programming versus taking introduction courses. My CS teacher Thaddeus LOVES me. He spelled yellow "yello" and said he should just write YOLO. I immediately knew he was a legit teacher. He said in the beginning of class to contact GTFs for help, but I went right up to him after class and informed him on how i needed help learning and making Object-Oriented programming click in my head. He smiled and laughed as invited me to his office(which is funny because like I said he said to contact GTFs). He's so funny and nice. We're getting along really well. I was the only one who knew where the lab was on the first day so he knew my name the first day and still remembers me(in a class of about 100+ people!)
My lab teacher speaks in fucking whispers and I'm helping the back half on the room because I already know HTML and Javascript. he is very short with me and a total dick.
My digital arts teacher and lab GTF are SUPER nice and funny and they know their shit. John helped me so much the first day we talked for 30 minutes about the course and how it can benefit my portfolio. My lab teacher Ian is already joking with me on how much i HATE macs and he likes my binary tattoo and realizes I want to take what I learn in the course further than introductory. They're super nice and chill and I know it's going to be my favorite course.
I made a new friend(I am really self-conscious about making friends, they seem to just not give a fuck about friendship and blow me off). My classmate Jesse, I asked how old he was and he gave this "what the fuck do I look like; clearly not a fucking idiot" wehn he said he was 23 and a junior. I immediately knew he was legit haha. he introduced me to a cool guy named Wil and we have the same taste in TV, video games, and music. oh and Jesse has a PANDA CREDIT CARD!!

I want one soooo bad!
My anthropology is boring as fuck and the teacher is very impersonal and the GTF for my discussion is very...awkwardly docile. he just doesn't have that much confidence. He made a comment about sitting in the front row and how no one does it because they are essentially a scared bitch and I was like"...um no, i don't care i'm not like that" and it through him for a loop. I guess he isn't used to assertive people.
John(my digital arts teacher) made a big point about keyboards and using QWERTY versus Dvorak and a cool history info about how QWERTY was made to not have type-writer arms jam versus being able to type. he suggested Dvorak and I ordered some stickers to put on my keyboard to learn it. I'm pretty excited!
I'm feeling more comfortable with myself socially, but I wish people knew me like SG knows me. but I don't think the college scene is ready for those types of people. Kind of a bummer but I just have to accept it. I really wish I could find some mature people to hang out with instead of "get fucked up have sex rawr".
Learning Maya is going slow, just so busy! I had a great idea of *eventually* drawing out my arm and chest tattoo on paper(read: show that I can draw and not be limited to a computer) for my portfolio-easy in the sense of I don't have to make it up as I go and can do a good comparable job.
I want to learn how to use Eclipse IDE for processing because it is much more programmer mindset/tools than the Processing IDE. And I get to use Ubuntu for all my programming and Windows for Maya. I want to learn GIMP and Inkscape(vector images) for my portfolio.
Well that is enough rambling for one day sorry for my novel but I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm sure it's hard to find mature 'college kids' I think the entertainment industry has made it appear that college is all about drinking drugs and sex. You'll find the right people soon enough. I'm sure you're not the only one.
A panda credit card? That's awesome. Did he tell you where he got it?
