I've been listening to Swollen Members tonight. It's been a while since Mad Child and Prevail have rocked my brain. I'd forgotten just how dope these guys are. It's a shame that they won't be releasing a new album anytime soon, what with the whole "we're going to tour the US for 3 years straight to try and break into the US market" thing. I mean, I hope it works out for them, but I'd prefer a new album to "oh look! the band made it big in the States!"
Ah well, at least I can listen to their old stuff and rock out. Rock out, and wonder what possessed them to make Heavy Metal. I can only hope that, when they finally do release a new album, it will sound more like the older, "darker," sound that got me hooked in the first place. The over-produced, overly poppy nature of Heavy Metal annoys me.

I just checked the wesbite, and I stand corrected. They've got a new album coming soon, and it seems to be the pre-Heavy Metal style that I like...but new and evolved. Excellent.
