I've kind of been glued to olympic coverage all week. There are a lot of Minnesotans competing. After all the hype Lindsey Vonn made good winning gold in the women's downhill. The winning time was 1:44.19.
On the other hand I have wasted hours watching curling. The mens team is from Minnesota. They should win a gold medal for choking.
I think they've stolen the Viking's playbook.

I'm thinking the Canucks could be eliminated before they get another chance at us, and that may be for the best.
The US winning put our favorite team in the best chance to get to the gold medal game. Belarus/Swiss and then Czech/Finland.
Both of those are winnable games and that puts us in the Gold Medal game.
I don't think this team mirrors the 1980 team, the 1980 team is one of those that will never be done again. What it stood for transcends sports, and this current team, and really any other team in the future are likely not to do that.
It's the hockey version of Joe Louis vs. Max Schemeling, when there are more important things on the line than just the sport.
