I woke up this morning to find that the heat was off again. Still a drag, but I'm slowly getting smarter. I wore my scarf, so the coughing was removed from the equation. Since I had already made a path through the snow, it was much easier this time. I crawled under the deck and cleared the intake again.

Later I went to the home...

I like how you end the story. I guess my situation could be worse, could live up north. Not that it will help you, at least it can only get better from here. I do the same thing, think about what I need to do. Until of course its too late and Im doing things last minute. Some lessons you never learn, well at least I dont. I like the stress, makes things interesting.

My rule is: it's OK to make mistakes, just don't make the same ones twice.

There are actually two things that happened that might not have happened if I had tried to do this during the summer. First I wouldn't have been able to see the exhaust steam. It has to be cold for that. The other thing is I might not have thought of the rubber coupling.

It's still working, burning a hole in the snow. I'll fine tune it in the spring.

Been tired and coughing all day after last night's adventure. At least the heat is still on. Only -3 F now. It's a fucking heatwave.

Of course the tiredness may have something to do with the pancakes with maple syrup I had for breakfast. For me that combo works better than sleeping pills.

Greetings from Minne"snow"ta where the temperature outside is a balmy -18 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping. I know it's cold outside when the roof trusses start banging. I still haven't figured out what is causing it, but sometimes it sounds like an explosion in the attic and the house shakes. Quite unnerving really. It's been doing this for years, and there is no evidence of structural...

Quiet night last night. No drinks, no partying, no ball dropping, just the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy. Oh and a fun message exchange with Slotswink

I watched the twilight zone marathon, too! After working until 2am lol

I hate funerals, but then who actually likes them? After 15 years of not going to any, this year I ended up at 3, including one today. The lady who died was a friend of my wife's family. I only met her once for a few minutes when she was alive, so the emotional impact to me was minimal. I was almost literally "along for...

What the fuck is with the Vikings? They're totally blowing it. They were so bad last night I switched to the Wild game when it came on. I thought they were going to blow it too when the Kings tied it up in the third. But just 12 seconds after LA tied it, Belanger nailed the game winner. After a terrible start the Wild are...

This is one of the reasons I dislike the holidays so much. Today marks 21 years since Mom died (breast cancer).frown Seems like just yesterday, the image etched permanently in my brain. One of the nurses had put lipstick on her and painted her nails.

I think it might be time for a memorial tattoo. My sister, who has none, might even get one to...

Been thinking long and hard about getting a tattoo of the Grinch, mainly because I have so many grinch-like characteristics. I'm leaning toward taking elements from the song that can be...

Hey, thanks, that's the fun in posting--or at least half of it! Barney's is a department store that's semi-famous for its arty window displays. Normally I think of holiday decals and giant neon signs when I think of window displays, but these are different. Something besides the usual "Grand Opening!" or "Closeout Sale!"
