i love the fall. im so happy its back. the long, hot summer is coming to a close, and the season of change begins again. poignant, though, just a bit. i love this time of year at state. another month, maybe 5 weeks and the trees will turn and the leaves will fall, cool rain falls as the temp starts to drop. the red cedar covered with leaves, lazily sliding away with the current. the smell in the air, of dead leaves and touch of the oncoming winter in the mornings and evenings.
with fall comes college football. one of the reasons i chose to go to state was because i knew id have quality sports programs to root for, while i was there and for the rest of my life. alma mater, a thing unheard of in my family. i love the sport, and am happy the season has begun. i wont gloat about MSU winnnig big, nor will i shout from this rooftop my joy in seeing the university of michigan get taken down by a 1-aa school. both things are worth a mention however.
i just watched the christmas episode from season 4 of the west wing. it reminds me that i still miss the snow. i didnt so much last year because of what was going on (though i do remember the first couple of times it rained last fall, something i alone among my former classmates was happy about) but i know i will this year. ah well. might actually have the money to make a trip to tahoe and see some of it. throwing a snowball should help a great deal.
things are progressing. essentially starting over socially since most of the people i met last year have left town. work is good though, despite still figuring out the system and what im going to be doing. and though i bitch about some of the things missing from where i live, ultimately its too good a deal not to renew my lease. considering how big my place is, how short my commute, and the views, i cant really afford to leave. looking for a roommate now.
night.
