i posted the other day about waiting for the phone to ring so i can go back to work. im waiting on the place i just finished working at to call me back and offer me an extension of the contract i had, which will only pay enough to cover my bills and almost nothing else. it would pay those bills and allow me to get by until i got a call from a place that wants me permanently. ive been waiting for the ceo to get back to approve my position and the cash essentially. i was talking to my roommate last night, who works for this company, and tends to feed me info about the office i wouldnt otherwise have access to. he tells me that hes talked to my would-be boss, and he tells me things look good to get me back there, but everyone is still waiting for her to get back, which everyone expected would have happened monday.

rumor around the office is that she has scarlet fever. im waiting on a job offer, or continuance perhaps, because my boss caught a nasty strain of strep.

what makes it amusing is that i was openly wishing last week for a little time off. i wanted to be able to take a week and do nothing but play warcraft, clean my house, and relax. i said this at a time before i found out the possibility for a salaried position was virtually gone. as it is, be careful what you wish for. im getting my week off now that i cant afford not to be working. itd be more funny if the situation didnt have the possibility of screwing me so badly.

whatever i suppose. not much i can do about whats going on. search job listings, apply for the one-ish a day im qualified for, and attempt to not go crazy. kinda sucks waiting by the phone.

bonus: my house is probably more clean now than at any other time ive been living here. scrubbed a ton yesterday.
