isnt it amazing how fast one falls back into old patterns of behavior. the last two or three weeks ive been a good student. going to bed around midnight, getting up at about 7 every morning. doing my work. but this saturday, unlike other saturdays for about the last 6 weeks, saturdays didnt consist of getting up at 9 and watching college football all day, not thinking at all about school. this saturday was up at 7, get to school about 8:30.
i had my first law school exams. midterms. for two of my classes: property and torts.
im thinking torts went better than property, but well see. everyone went out after. we ended up at a sports bar, stephs, thats only a block from school. it was good. i mean, as good as it can be after i found out msu lost to illinois. we were their first big ten win in two years. john l. smith was quoted as saying that he didnt prepare the team, mentally or physically. which seems like a really stupid thing to do considering that he knows damn good and well that we go into michigan next weekend. stupid. if we dont beat either michigan or ohio state, john l. deserves the ax.
anyway. it was a good time, before we decided to go to amici's (something like that) for dinner. so we go, and i drive. and we decide to go to the haight to hang with members of the other section afterward. problem ended up being that while i know which bus to take to get there, i dont exactly know how to drive there. and neither did anyone else in the car. we ended up going to nob hill, cause mike's parents are getting a very nice place paid for by the company his dad works for. i ended up doing something i wish i wouldnt have. damn it and ah well at the same time.
back to the whole point of this. my schedual the last three days has been classic undergrad: getting up late and going to bed late. i have to be up in about five hours. its stupid, and ill suffer tomorrow, but it happens. two more midterms on saturday, including what will probably be the hardest: contracts. going to have to work a lot harder to prep this week.
two random notes. ive been tonight by a program on animal planet. theres been a show on that follows three big cats in africa: a leopard, a lioness, and a cheetah. great show.
i opened my window so i could smoke without going downstairs i notice that it smells like something burning. something wood. im pretty certain my house is fine, since i didnt smell anything until i opened the window. well see what light brings tomorrow.
night.

Midterms, eh? I'm torn between being glad that we don't have midterms because then I don't have to study for midterms, and wishing we had midterms so that everything didn't ride on the final and I'd get some feedback before then.
Ah, to be a 1L, right? Hehe . . . Hmmm.
Thanks again. Your comment was reassuring.
