so ive been staring at this skyscraper theyre building on the corner. i watch the construction as i have my morning cigarette, and i often sit on the fire escape and smoke and watch the guys work. not very often does one have a front row seat to the construction of such a thing. this week they installed the rebar reinforcement on the pylons to extent up to the fourth (i think) floor. ive been wondering how they were going to pour the concrete. ive also wondered in passing about the wooden cylinders ive seen that are bound together with rebar. as i stare out my window today i see that they have covered the lower parts of the pylons with those wooden rebar cylinders. guess i have my answer about how they intend to form the concrete. the construction is fascinating to the i-used-to-play-with-legos part of my mind.
