I promise I'll reply to comments when I get home. I just have to make a note of this.
Three words for today: Permanent nerve damage.
Three other words: TOTALLY FUCKING AMAZING.
Holy guiltless geekery, Batman. This is the best Otakon ever.
Just got back to the hotel a short while ago. We ended the night by attending Piano Squall's concert. He's a guy, who dressed as Squall from FFVIII, and plays the piano beautifully. I don't know how you could possibly find something sexier. Oh, and he's single. I got my picture taken with him and swooned. I'm totally hanging on him in the artist's alley tomorrow.
My brain is scrambled right now.
I got up at 7 to finish sewing my Lisa Garland dress. Was at the con center by 10. The red pumps fucking KILLED. Cosplay footwear is almost always uncomfortable, but since this feels a lot like the day after my Sailor Venus cosplay back in 2000...I should be regaining feeling back in my toes by Wednesday.
Of next week.
I was in Silent Hill cosplay, so I was pretty sure my day would rule. I caught a few other SH cosplayers and told them to meet me at 7:30 so we could get some group shots. Silent Hill kickline, motherfuckers. I can't wait to post a picture of it. We had Claudia (SH3), Heather (SH3), the victim (SH4), Henry (SH4), two Lisas (SH1), and Harry (SH1). Coolest cosplay group ever. It was great to hang out with fellow Silent Hill obsessees and talk smack on Resident Evil. You know when a Heather cosplayer busts out the Sexy Beam move and you all start laughing hysterically...you are the geekiest of the geeks. It was rad.
Oh, at around 4:30 I didn't have anything to do, so I knew I could kill an hour before the next anime I wanted to see by standing in line at Starbucks. There I was in my Lisa costume, ready to enjoy an iced caffe mocha...except I didn't know the people working there hadn't bothered to snap the lid on correctly.
Yes. Iced mocha, right down the front of my WHITE nurses dress. Worst cosplay emergency I've had, but I didn't freak out at all. I am cooool under pressure. I walked back to the hotel, washed it in the sink and me and my roomie Brad crouched over the dress with two hair dryers. It worked, and you couldn't tell I had spilled coffee on it. So I was presentable for my group.
They showed my all-time favorite anime tonight (Video Girl Ai), so I took my other roomie Stefy to see that. She loved it. I've seen it at least a dozen times, and I almost cried at the end. I'm a doof.
I also saw hot cosplay girl Lindze and bought one of her cool Genki Hats.
Alright, I'm hogging the laptop. I really don't want Otakon to end...
But I will be home tomorrow, and will read up on what all of my SG friends have been doing.
