Hey, Damien. You wanna mambo the dog face in the banana patch?
Fuck yeah, dude! I'm down! Where's the banana patch?
And thus, another night of asskickery ended. I had sooooooo much fun tonight. Joined a few #charmers at our friend Brad's house to watch Labyrinth. The movie was his suggestion, but I'm always up for it. That movie is a hell of a nostalgia trip for me. I loved that movie when I was a kid.
I remember walking around and drawing arrows with chalk behind me. As scary as it was, I totally wanted to fight my way to the castle beyond the goblin city. I still do.
I was also obsessed with the Fireys. I don't know why, now they're my least favorite part of the movie. And that song, Within You. I love that song, but it's masochistic love. That song freaks me the fuck out. I don't know why, the lyrics are awesome. It's the melody. Maybe the way David Bowie sings it. Maybe I associate it with a certain feeling when I was younger. If I hear that song in the wrong mood it will send me into a panic attack.
Tonight, I enjoyed it. Cool song.
your eyes can be so cruel
just as I can be so cruel
After the movie we played some fighting games, then we debated about racing games...and someone suggested Karaoke Revolution. It was karaoke time. All but one of the people in attendance stepped up. Six players. Brad went first, and he can sing like a motherfucker! I said I'd go second. I'm kind of glad I did that. I've always had pretty bad stage fright, but I think I left that behind with most every other fear I might have had. When we went through the list of available songs there were only a few I knew anyway. I chose "Like A Virgin" for my first round. And I fucking ROCKED IT! I ruled. Second round, Michelle Branch's "Are You Happy Now?". Rocked it AGAIN! 94% greatness rating. Third round we did random... I got Bizarre Love Triangle. Never fucking heard that song in my life. STILL GOT PLATINUM! Just sight-reading the pitch along with the lyrics.
I won.
I also beat the shit out of "Son Of A Preacher Man" and "Wing Beneath My Wings"...I got 94% greatness on that one too. It was a proud moment.
I'll tell you a not proud moment. On the way to Brad's house he told me that my friend Stefy was looking at pictures from Saturday and said I looked like Gwen Stefani.
While I was outside the club in that outift I overheard someone say I looked like Paris Hilton.
Paris Hilton and Gwen Stefani. Uhm...I don't think there are two people I hate MORE than them. Maybe going outside of my usual t-shirt and jeans style is just a bad idea.
Fuck...it's 8 AM. I leave for Otakon in 30 hours...and I've still got two costumes to finish. I am screwed.
Not feeling the cosplay vibe this year. I will get them finished though. I need the last minute to motivate me.
I am a costume-procrastinating-on motherfucker.
I am excited about Otakon though, hooray! My whole year usually revolves around this event. It's going to be insane. They're expecting 20,000.
Four #charmers. That's enough to rock Baltimore.
I need sleep now. I'll try to be a complete nerd and update from the con.

On another note. I just went to your website and looked at your cosplay outfits. I'm not entirely sure how this will affect our hilarity dynamic, but I have a pretty good feeling that making fun of you will play a strong role in it.
