Downside: My cat died last night. I sat with him for five hours of repeated checks to see if he was still breathing. Every once in a while we would lift his head and try to meow at me, but couldn't. I would just pet him, or talk to him (occassionally sing, although I couldn't make it very far into a song without crying), to let him know I was there. I knew he couldn't see me. His eyes were empty. Five hours of looking into the eyes of this beautiful, sweet creature that didn't understand what this meant...to be dying.
At 12:20 he lifted his head up again, then came a series of soundless meows. He started moving his legs like he was walking somewhere. Then he just stopped.
That was the hardest part. I could see he wasn't breathing anymore. I thought after five hours I was prepared for him to finally pass. I wasn't ready to move him and hear his teeth scrape along the floor. I had to make sure. I sat by the spot where he died today. He was there, and now he isn't.
Upside: I now have the entire Silent Hill 4 soundtrack. "Your Rain" has to be one of the coolest tracks I've heard in any of the games so far. When it gets all heavy two and half minutes in...FUCK YES!@#!@! A rockass combination of two of my favorite things, music and Silent Hill. If I could figure out a way to listen to it while eating pancakes on a roller coaster with Seanbaby's mouth somewhere on my body...I'd...mmmfff...
Shut the fuck upside: I saw a commercial for the Atkins diet that said "Atkins helps you meet girls!". Shut the fuck up. I'm so sick of this low carb everything now. I have one thing to say to people that buy into it: I'm going to light up a cig, you strip down and form a pyramid.
