I got promoted today. I'm now a director, but I get no extra money, have nobody working for me, and still do the same job. This was how our CIO decided to reorganize me so I could still answer to someone but retain my autonomous status. Whatever.

I heard from an old friend yesterday who just got out of the service. I used to work for him when I was in; now he's a civilian contractor teaching the same stuff we used to do (electronic warfare, elint, etc.). He's going to be out here this fall and I'm hoping to get together.

Suz is also thinking about changing her major to Art History from Interior Design. I don't know how much she'll like that, since she hates to read so much. Still, she seems much happier with that type of class than she has with the others so far. In the last two years she's been in school, I can tell you if I was an art student and had to deal with the kind of teachers she has, I'd have gone on a killing spree by now.
