Your camera has a pretty good specification and a good make. After all if anyone can Canon can

Your face is beautiful - you have to remember I can't see this bad picture you talk about anyway.

How long have you had the camera?
How many pics have you taken?
Have you read the manual?

Your fingers may be getting in the way of the (invisible) infrared beam which lets the Autofocus set the distance so check you're not obstructing it.
Your Autofocus may not be able to lock on to subjects if they're very shiny/reflective - try focussing on something else at the same distance and locking the focus setting if you can
You may be moving the camera slightly producing a blur. Hold your arms into your body to add support and take the picture at the end of a breath out!!
You may not have the best speed setting for the situation like ISO 100 for sunny, ISO 400 for indoor etc. use flash to compensate
Use light well by taking pictures with the light through the window.

Go take 100's of pictures and take lots of pics of the same subject with different settings to see what works for you.
