Sure there are lots of holidays. But we don't actually get time off of work for them. Banks and government workers tend to get more days off 
My workplace only recognizes ten holidays...taken up by New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving (2 days), Christmas...and maybe MLK Jr Day and Washington's birthday. Not sure on those last two, though.
