mmmm... coffee. i really dig the ritual of it. i never want it in the morning. but the evening -that's another story. it smells so good. there are all these rituals around tea, but they seem passive. it's the accoutrements and the waiting -seeping, etc. coffee, at least lattes, espressos and the ilk are more mechanical. it's a gear head dream. you grind the beans, foam the milk, there are pressure values, turning things, things could explode if something goes wrong. it's sweet. it's like have a motorcycle in your kitchen. but it smells like coffee instead of grease. damn.
