Good news!

Took the ASVAB, scored 88. I not only qualify for most jobs in the military, I may also qualify for the Nuke program. My recruiters are going to set me up for an additional test on Friday along with the physical (assuming my transcripts from Wake Tech arrive on time) to see if I can get into the Nuclear program.

I am so friggen nervous for the last part of the process. The MEPs physical is the hardest part of the whole exam, everything on your body is looked at: your zits, scars, your feet, and your private parts.

I have never been diagnosed with anything and if something unexpected pops up, I have no idea what to tell the doctor "Uhh I don't know?" Thats an automatic disqualifier. Most who have been through the physical say it's best to say "No", be honest, and keep your mouth shut, and I'll be fine.

Other than that, I should have absolutely no problems getting in. My next step is to pick what jobs I would like to get in and fill out a security clearance form. The rest of the process is out of my hands.

Well, it seems like the planets are aligned just right and there's nothing stopping me!

But seriously, the economy sucks, I still live with mom, I have no friends, my job consists of answering the same damn questions on the phone for 8 hours a day, and I don't see myself financially able to go back to college next year.

Only option I have is to suck it up for another couple of years, or use the options and advantages that the military offers. Plus being in the Navy and exploring the world (while getting valuable work and life experience), despite the difficulty and hardships I will face the next 4 years while in the service, will bring more to the table than any current desk or retail job.
