i'm up early today. it's 9:30 am, and i've already taken a shower, went out for breakfast, and got coffee at the fresh pot. i'm always up early after i've had a good night... i think it tends to carry over into morning and it makes me wake up feeling refreshed.
anyway. i think things are going well. i started my first big tattoo in portland yesterday, and it's actually kinda cool, for a weird jesus/satan/skull thing. today and tomorrow i'm working on two kids who flew out here from NH to get tattooed, and they want cool stuff too. maybe someday i'll quit being a bum and take some pictures. you'd think i'd make sure to get some use out of a $500 camera, but no. i just never think of it. all my friends always have pictures of their friends and stuff everywhere, and i'd like the same thing, but apparently i'm not willing to put the work into it.
i bought a bike a few days ago, from a crazy guy in downtown who does nothing but build bikes for people out of his house. it's dope. black, single speed w/flipflop, fast, smooth and comfy. that's another thing i should take pictures of. i took it out on a great ride last night with a friend, and it was awesome. saw some beautiful new sights.
about a week ago i totally ate shit riding my bike. well, this was before i bought my new one, and was riding my brother's which is too small for me. but shit was defintiely eaten nonetheless. i was riding real fast and was half-paying attention because my mind was really preoccupied, and suddenly found myself hurtling towards a curb that was much more ominously front-and-center than i had anticipated. while i managed to swerve the bike enough out of the way to avoid a total over-handlebar death launch, my balance was definitely thrown off and my only option was like a weird running dismount thing. which would have worked great if i hadn't been going so fast, or if i could actually run 30 mph... but since i'm not a greyhound, it turned into a bit of a running ghost-ride trip and tumble pavement slide. dude, that rhymed. so with this highly technical manuever i ended up removing a 2x2 inch hunk of flesh from my left palm, which sucked, and continues to suck today as i have this disgusting scabby wound hurting, throbbing, and inhibiting my everyday hand movements. what's worse is that i had biking gloves in my bag that i could have easily worn and avoided this injury, but no, i had to be an asshole. such is the story of my life.
man, i should get up early more often... time goes so slow in the mornings. what a perfect time to be productive. i know i've said this before, but i'm really trying to quit being lazy and make better use of my time. i like having things to show for it. so i think i should start with less of this internet crap. like right now.
