I saw this rainbow bumper sticker the other day, obviously in support of gay rights, and I was thinking.... Well. It really depressed me for some reason. I mean. Don't get me wrong, I support equality and gay rights, but... They've stolen the rainbow away and now I can never use it. I mean. What do you think about when you see a rainbow, either "Hey, there's a pot o' gold over there!" or "Support Gay Rights!". So if I were ever to use the rainbow in some of my art, chances are that it will automatically be interpreted as something to do with gay rights, when I am not trying to say that at all. (Is this a reasonable arguement? Or is this just an irrational fear?)
So I guess what I'm trying to say is: Call me a bigot, call me a homophobe, call me crazy, but God Dammit! Gimme my rainbow back!

we have this to help us understand, but it's not helping me at all.
Hopefully I'll be done with the stupid house tomorrow. I asked my teacher for some more help as well.
It's really fun to do all this though even if it's very difficult to understand at times. But I guess it's jsut to hang in there and eventually I'll learn how to use it.
