Hello everyone. My one friend and I are forming a New Orleans blues band called "Gris Gris" here is the lyrics to the first song we wrote, hope all of you like it:
Orange Avenue (Sent To The Local Correction)
Johnny was born, on Euclid avenue
His Mom was a stiff, who was turnin blue
In a world of pain, theres one thing that kept him sane
He rushed some Californian snow straight to his brain
Well Johnny was busted, by the county hand
Theyd make an example, of this wayward man
Well a rapist did 8 months, in the county jail
While Johnny did 10 to 20 with out bail
I told his woman, with as much charm
A child on each breast, and one under each arm
Well lonesome tears, raced down her face
I had to leave, so I wouldnt get trapped in her pace
An he swore Jesus, was in the next cell
Pondering at what point, where he fell
He blamed his father, who never loved him
Cause if he did, why did he let him sin
Well Johnny died, in a cell block riot
While his fourth child, couldnt keep quiet
A guard shot him, looking into his eyes
On a memorial Christmas night
