trip pt 3

If I remember correctly I had left luzerne. So I got to Bern which is apparently the capital of switzerland. A nice little city which apparently doesnt go to sleep until 7am. Didnt get to do everything because the clock tower requires advanced booking if you really want to go up and they only do one tour a day.

The following day I went to geneva for a couple of days. It Iis a very nice city although too many trees blocking all the important buildings and their fountains are boring. I also may have upset a pimp and his possie when I said hey in english and they had a flunkie tail me for ten minutes before he backed off. They probably thought I was horning in on their turf being the red light district. After I had done all the loxal tours I went to lausanne. Nice little town with a few things to do although I had hoped to go to annecy which is in france but the tour for the day was booked out.

I went to milan next for 2 days. A lot of walking involved and I had to be on my toes as con men pretending to give you free bracelets when in fact they want money. I was kinda expecting something more for the fashion capital but it was kinda a dull city. I did go stir crazy and did some people watching from my window with a bottle of wine.

Next was bologna for 2 days. Again more walking since for some reason all my hotels in italy are far from the city centre ( but not the hostels). I apparently have little recollection of the city except it was the first city in europe I visited that didn't habe trams. I will let you all know if I do remember something about my bologna trip.

I went to venice for 2 days although I think you neee more time then 2 days. I also learned that a map is no good in venice proper. I got really lost until I finally cracked out the gps. Its really great just for walking around but apparently gondola rides are really expensive so I gave it a miss.

Florence or by its proper name Firenze which sounds pretty badass. Really nice city and easy to get around on foot. I went to pisa the second day I was there. Go early if you want to go up the tower otherwise you will be waiting for your time to go up for hours potentially and there is not a lot else there. My final day I went to siena. Also a very nice little city although to get up to it you have to go up more stairs than pisa ( or use the escalators) . I didnt spend a lot of time there because I wanted to do a couple of thinga back in firenze because they were closed on the monday I got there.

I will leave it at that as I now head off on a pub crawl in rome
