It's more of a serious of things done whilst doing a crazy thing by staying awake for 60 hours straight.

So this length of awakefullness started at 4.20 am friday morning back in August 2009 - i think(i always set my room clock 10 minutes faster in case i sleep in which i have done on occasion). back then I lived pretty far from work and in a suburb with little transport. So my shift at work was 7am to 3pm and after work I was going to eventually (since they all finished later) meet some co workers for dinner and drinks at our usual haunt.

Skip the work part because all I do is mostly photocopy and I finished work on time for a change and went and got my hair cut followed by going to another bar which is one of the few places I know of that stock milk for mixing drinks (My drink of choice being Baileys and milk - these days its actually Baileys and chocolate milk and if you can get your hands on the Orange Truffle Baileys and mix it with chocolate milk then with a bit of luck you should basically get a liquid Jaffa which is a hard shelled chocolate with an orangy taste)

So about 5 I leave that bar and head for our haunt where I proceed to drink a combination of midori lemonades and vodka raspberrys (back then i was a notorious drink mixer and usually could get through the night with very little impact on myself if any - also our regular haunt stopped carrying milk on their premises by this point and baileys doesn't mix too well with much else although mixing it with pineapple juice apparently was a thing although not as good as with milk was still palatable). This particular bar did really cheap drinks and also had pretty quality food.

So me and my colleagues sat and had some drinks and dinner and talked and the night was going pretty well but then everyone else decided to call it a night.... at 9.30pm. I thought fair enough I'll check out this club I have heard about (this club is below the place that Princess Mary of Denmark met the Crown Prince of Denmark - or maybe they were just there but either way the Slip Inn while itself is reputable enough, the Club below called Chinese Laundry has been known to be shut down complete with police and sniffer dogs.) I got in at around 10 and proceeded to drink some of the more exotic beers they had and switch between the two dance floors. I couldn't tell you the specifics of what music was being played but I think it was house or trance or some variant.

I suppose the highlight was making out with a chick briefly who's name I never found out but that was no where near the end of this night. so about half hour after making out with said chick and watching her make out with some other guy even more crazily, some guys I knew from high school came in and spotted me. So I spent the rest of the night with them first still in this club mostly on the couches (Yes they have couches and a TV and the tv plays old school cartoons i think this night they had smurfs on) then left because they were with a larger group of people staying at the hotel above the casino but apparently we had to stop for another drink at the bar on the other side of the harbour first then go back to the club breifly (after almost leaving one the guys there to hit on someone who was definitely not his type and whilst i was amused by it the third member of the group wasn't and insisted I fetch him) and then went to the casino.

more drinks (this time jack and coke) before going up to the room they were all in (and there were ten of them in one room and they were celebrating on of their friends going into the army and this was their last hoorah) where some of us did E and drank tequila to no real effect. not much else happened that night/morning except one of the guys i was with being kicked off the black jack table for drunken behaviour and we eventually parted ways at 6.30 am saturday racking up about 35 drinks in total.

I went home, showered, changed and then went out and played Magic the Gathering. Don't recall how well I did but it was neither great or terrible.

Got home, showered and changed again and went to this club I had seen the previous night which was the only reason I was still awake. The cover charge was rather outrageous but I liked the music so why not. I also managed to sneak into some school's 10 year reunion party and wasn't even supposed to be in that part of the club but I figured screw it (and luckily avoided what looked like someone checking off names). So I danced the night away trying to be somewhat inconspicuous lest someone notice i should not have been there and finished the night at about 5.30am

Now I intended originally to just go home and sleep after this but at about 11pm that night my friend sends me a text asking if I would like to go to Animania with him (its an anime convention in Sydney and what would lead me into the world of anime). I figured sure why not so after my night out I hit up an internet cafe underneath a macdonalds and spent a few hours keeping up with all my internet related things before going across town to meet my friend at the convention. We weren't there for too long buying a handful of dvd's a piece, playing some games and admiring costumes before deciding to catch a movie on our way home.

At the time we took it in turns to pick a movie and buy the other person snacks and it was his turn and he had decided on (if my memory serves me correctly) Good luck Chuck. Now my friend was under the impression that this was just a comedy which he thought might be good and it wasn't until 20 minutes into the movie I point out to him that we were probably watching a rom com and not a regular comedy. It wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen and overall probably average with every other movie i have ever seen.

So finally I got home at around 4.30pm Sunday and pretty much slept the entire time except briefly to eat dinner and then go back to sleep for work the next day. I haven't come close to doing anything like that again since and getting a bit on in years for that sort of thing
