Reality TV
Or what actually passes for it seeing as a lot of it is staged that there it may as well just be called Drama programming. While I don't mind live television programming like some sort of variety hour, all these "reality" shows which are done months in advance before airing more often or not just really shit me.
Primarily it is because a lot of the people on them consider themselves to be celebrities and not just that but celebrities with talent like those clowns on shows like jersey shore or keeping up with the kardashians; talentless hacks the lot of them and yet they rake in or have raked in a ton of money off of human stupidity who enjoy fake drama disguised as reality television. Where competitors on a show have to have some sort of pathetic sob story in order to compete and more often or not vanish from the media within a year or two after finishing whichever tv contest they have entered although you might seem them at a bunch of minor events seeing as they quit their job to compete in the first place and now they have to accept scraps just to get by.
The other thing is they are all still going and people still cannot stop watching it especially things like DIY shops that make everything look substantially simpler then it really is just so they can get you spending at whichever brand of stores that are backing them. It's not like they are really doing anything different so why keep waving this perfumed dead carcass in our faces? Are our minds so numb that we will watch any drivel. Are Networks so cheap they aren't willing to spend the money on proper programming resorting to this nonsense with a meager prize at the end and potential for fame?
When will all just switch off and find something better to do until such a time as the networks decide that we want something decent and to hell with their shareholders (who are basically the real bosses of any company or at least any that wishes to stick around). For the record i have seen one series of big brother and two seasons of amazing race and survivor before I got bored of it and have never been inclined to watch any of it since because they really do get repetitive so quickly.
